Bachelor Theses

Basic information

The bachelor thesis is an independent scientific work and offers an excellent opportunity to deal with a subject area of business management in depth.

The prerequisite for writing a bachelor thesis at the chair is the fulfilment of the criteria listed in the examination regulations for the bachelor degree programs (especially § 30 PO Bachelor Degree Programs). Please ensure that you meet the criteria according to your respective examination regulations for a bachelor thesis at our chair. Especially students of industrial engineering have to make sure that they complete the bachelor thesis in the subject area of the chosen elective modules.

The process of the bachelor thesis at the Chair of Strategic Management and Leadership includes three phases:

(1) the preparation phase of 6 weeks, which begins with the start date (seminar for bachelor theses) and ends with the submission of the exposé (the exposé is graded pass or fail),

(2) the official processing phase of 9 weeks, which begins with the submission of the exposé and ends with the submission of the completed Bachelor thesis, and

(3) the evaluation phase of around 6 weeks, which begins with the submission of the Bachelor thesis and ends with the evaluation of the thesis.

Seminar for the Bachelor Thesis

The seminar on bachelor thesess includes the following contents:

  • Methods of scientific work: Here questions will be discussed such as: What actually is science? What are the quality criteria of scientific work? Which methods can I use to meet these criteria?
  • Q&A: Here the students can ask their own questions.

The Bachelor Thesis Seminar is successfully completed when the Bachelor Thesis Exposé has been submitted on time and has been graded as passed.

The start dates including the introductory seminar for bachelor theses take place in October/November for the winter semester and in April for the summer semester.
